Experience

Joel White brings to Marrs & Henry years of successful experience as a litigator and negotiator, with lead counsel experience in both state and federal courts, and in administrative hearings.  Having focused in the past upon employment matters, Joel has secured court victories and favorable settlements for a broad range of clients — everyone from retail clerks to medical professionals.

Joel is a proud graduate of both the College of William & Mary and the University of Richmond School of Law.  He graduated fifth in his law school class, and was also honored with membership in the Order of the Coif and the prestigious McNeill Law Society. Upon entering practice, Joel earned his first lead counsel trial victory within less than 18 months, and has in fact already been twice recognized by vote of his peers as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star.”  He is happy to broaden his trial practice while adding depth to Marrs & Henry’s ranks. 

When he isn’t practicing law, Joel moonlights as a stage actor in Richmond’s vibrant professional theatre scene. You may have seen him in productions with Richmond Shakespeare, Chamberlayne Actors’ Theatre, Firehouse Theatre, and Virginia Repertory Theatre. He also serves on the Board of Directors for 5th Wall Theatre. Onstage and off, Joel takes professional guidance from William Shakespeare himself, who counsels that we should “do as adversaries do in law: strive mightily, but eat and drink as friends.”
